Mobile marketing solutions firm 2ergo has launched a web-based application that allows in-house and agency marketers to create mobile-enabled websites in minutes. Swift, from 2ergo, enables users to construct mobile web presences from scratch - unlike transcoding software that converts existing websites to make them compatible with mobile.
The company says that Swift is easy to use, even by marketers with no IT or design experience, as it guides them through every stage of the process and focuses only on the features and contents that mobile users want and need. Its tools enable sites to be fully customised, by adding text, multimedia content, website links, brand logos and corporate colour schemes in just a few clicks.
Swift’s feature set includes instant preview, which allows marketeers to view sites and make alterations before they go live; drag-and-drop page components; design customisation; automatic logo resizing; RSS feed support; data capture; and automatic device detection.
In addition, Swift’s reporting system offers real-time analytics and tracking. It can provide daily, weekly and monthly reports on the number of page hits, visitors, the types of handset being used to access sites, and the service providers making this possible.
For added security, the product’s account handling function enables creators to log in and control a site’s content and status, by updating news, refreshing images and adding additional features, for example. The product’s instruction tool also helps users design, implement and set up search optimisation facilities. In addition, marketers can include advertising from their own organisations or on behalf of clients on Swift sites.
“Designing and activating mobile Internet sites used to be a service that organisations had to outsource or dedicate significant internal resources to,” says 2ergo Global Sales Director, Damian Hanson. “Either way, the process was often costly and time-consuming. Swift… allows marketeers to create a professional mobile Internet presence quickly and cost effectively, whether they want to extend their brand’s online presence, launch marketing initiatives or integrated campaigns, publish blogs, disseminate information, collect data or drive advertising revenue.”
According to Ofcom’s Communication Report 2007, over 5.7 million people in the UK alone access the Internet via their mobile phone, a figure set to rise as the function becomes a standard feature on more mobile handsets.
