Russian mobile advertising firm Gigafone has announced its sponsorship of the MOFILM Short Film Festival, to be hosted by Kevin Spacey at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from 16-19 February.
The MOFILM Mobile Short Film Festival is the first of its kind, and highlights the increasing influence of the mobile medium on the entertainment industry, bringing together art, commerce and technology. The 2009 initiative comes on a wave of a new generation of sophisticated multimedia-enabled mobile handsets and value-added operator services, providing new opportunities to enjoy short form video.
“Gigafone is most comfortable at the confluence of technology and creativity,” says Gigafone President, Gregory Khaldey. “The quality of MOFILM competition entrants is an exciting example of an emerging, easily accessible and highly creative mass media which Gigafone is proud to promote. Our sponsorship brings together talented content producers and a digital advertising community that wants to support new creative channels such as short-film-for-mobile.”
Gigafone is using MWC to launch a new digital advertising platform which will serve as an online advertising marketplace for brands, publishers and agencies.
