AOL has appointed Stephane Panier as head of Bebo’s global operations. Panier was previously VP and COO of Bebo. In his new role, Panier will report directly to Jon Brod, Executive Vice President, AOL Ventures.
Before joining Bebo in January 2009, Panier worked for Google for six years in both senior Finance and Operations positions. Prior to Google, he was a management consultant with Booz & Company, focusing on energy and hi-tech. He worked with a variety of clients ranging from utilities and large tech companies to start-ups. His early career was played out at Areva, the French company which designs and builds nuclear power plants.
Mobile content and entertainment firm Buongiorno has appointed Juergen Reutter as Managing Director for UK & International Region, covering Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Eastern Europe, Russia, and South Africa.
Reutter joined Buongiorno in January 2008 as Regional Managing Director for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Eastern Europe and later took up the position of B2C Director for UK & International Region. He previously worked at T-Mobile and O2 in Germany. At O2 Germany, he headed the Content & Services division, and was responsible for mobile services.
PhonepayPlus, the phone-paid services regulator, has appointed Bradley Brady to the role of Director of Strategy & Stakeholder Relations. Brady take sup the role in October, when he will assume responsibility for all strategy development, policy, research and stakeholder relations.
As Director of Stakeholder Relations for the Equality and Human Rights Commission, Brady was responsible for building and maintaining relationships with a broad range of contacts from Parliament to the private sector. He was also responsible for the Commission's 100-strong Helpline team, which offers support and advice on a range of equality and human rights issues.
Previously, he was Senior Consumer Policy Manager at Ofcom, with lead responsibilities for phone-paid services, digital switchover and the usability of communications equipment.
