miniV.tv, China’s first commercially available interactive mobile video service, has selected weComm as its technology partner to provide the applications software platform that will power a broad range of services, including live TV, lottery betting and video streams of news, sports, finance, and entertainment content.
The service, which is built on weComm’s wave On-Demand Mobile Application Platform, is due to launch this month.
“We have ambitious plans to create the first and leading interactive Mobile TV service in China,” says miniV.tv CEO, Eila Chin. “Those plans required the selection of a proven technology partner that could provide a flexible platform for a whole range of services, from special produced content for mobile audio visual broadcasting, lottery, to shopping and interactive user generated content. The ability to keep the services refreshed via rapidly deployed spotlight services across the broadest range of handsets was a crucial factor in our selection process.”
weComm’s wave platform uses a client-server infrastructure to deliver interactive mobile data services, optimized for all major mobile operating systems. The technology delivers content and applications to handsets on demand.
“miniV.tv’s goals map directly to the mass device support and feature benefits of using weComm’s platform for mobile application delivery and makes full use of wave’s robust and scalable application platform,” says weComm VP, Business Solutions, Steven Tan.
