Fortumo, the open m-commerce platform provider, has announced its service debut in Indonesia, the largest country in South East Asia and the fourth most populous country in the world. The move is the latest in Fortumo’s Asian expansion initiative, following the opening of operations in China a year ago, and, since then, in Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Australia
“As the emerging countries have become the major growing force of mobile commerce, we choose Indonesia as our next prime market,” says Pohan Chang, Head of Asia Marketing at Fortumo. Chang notes that Indonesia has a population of 230 million people, with 144.64 million mobile subscribers.
