People-powered reviews and recommendations site Qype has unveiled a new version of the site’s mobile application, Qype Radar, featuring integrated vouchers and real-time social tools. The real-time updates enable users to broadcast their location to their friends with one click, via social networks such as Twitter and Facebook, as well as text message and email.
Also new to this latest version are integrated special offers. Qype Radar users can now browse for the nearest discounts and vouchers while they’re on the move, and use their phone to redeem them in the store. Qype currently has over 10,000 vouchers available across Europe.
“Mobile vouchers are a hot topic right now,” says Qype CEO, Stephen Taylor. “But we believe that success relies not just on the technical platform, but more on the ability to talk to the business owners and get them on board. The direct relationship we’ve already established with local businesses allows us to offer more than 10,000 vouchers right from the start, with more being added every day.”
The new version of Qype Radar, which also features integrated photo galleries and a redesigned interface, is available now for Android handhelds, and will be released for the iPhone soon.
