Inventec Appliances, a Taiwan-based maker of smart handheld products, has selected Red Bend Software’s vRapid Mobile software for firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updating, and vDirect Mobile software for device management (DM) on both feature phones and Smartphones using the Qualcomm Brew platform and Windows Mobile platform. The Inventec OKWAP-branded mobile phone models enabled by Red Bend’s MSM solutions – the W316C and WG209 - are currently available in the China market.
“Inventec selected Red Bend’s Mobile Software Management solutions because of their proven experience in software updating and device management both in China and worldwide,” says Inventec Appliances Deputy General Manager, Yongcai Bian. “Red Bend’s local engineering support ensured that we could meet our product deadlines to the market, and that our products could pass the rigorous quality test required by operators.”
