Velti, the global provider of mobile marketing and advertising solutions, has appointed Mike Walsh as VP of Business Development in the UK, reporting to CEO, Alex Moukas. Walsh will be based in Velti’s London office and lead the company’s interaction with agencies, brands and enterprises.
Walsh has over 33 years experience with brands including Ford, Nestle, GSK, American Express and Heinz. He was also Director of the Worldwide Board and Group CEO for EMEA at Ogilvy and Mather, where he was responsible for operations in 66 countries. In his new role at Velti, he will be charged with educating traditional agencies and brands on the mobile channel and how integrated, multichannel campaign opportunities can be delivered. He says:
“Mobile delivers on the marketing objectives that all brands strive to achieve - highly targeted audiences defined attitudinally as well as demographically, a cost effective channel, accountability and measurability. To be part of an exciting business that is leading the mobile marketing revolution is a real honour and a challenge.
Away from the day job, Walsh has previously been a trustee and Vice-Chairman of the British Red Cross, and a World Trustee of WWF (World Wildlife Fund). He is currently Chairman of the UK Disasters Emergency Committee, representing 13 of the UK’s largest international charities.
