Mobile advertising firm Out There Media has signed a partnership agreement with VimpelCom, which provides telecommunications services in Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Southeast Asia. VimpelCom has a total subscriber base of 64 million consumers, including 51 million in Russia.
The deal sees Out There Media providing VimpelCom with targeted mobile advertising through Mobucks, its multichannel mobile advertising marketplace platform. Out There Media will also be responsible for monetization, sales, business development and operations support.
The two companies plan to roll out a range of mobile advertising commercial pilot projects in Russia this year, using WAP, SMS, MMS and USSD channels. The partnership will be the first to make the most of the latest version of Mobucks, V2.5, which will be released shortly. Mobucks 2.5 offers a large choice of advertising channels, including WAP, display advertising, SMS, MMS, USSD, WAP Push, Rinback tones, and video ads. It also offers VimpelCom the ability to collect data across all channels, and cross-channel user segmentation and targeting.
“We believe that mobile advertising is the way forward in the mobile sector and we are keen to be the first to offer this multichannel solution to our partners in Russia,” says VimpelCom Group Chief Marketing Officer, Martin Furuseth. “We are very happy to be working with Out There Media towards this objective, because we are convinced that by joining forces with the leader in this sector, the prospects for growth and success are endless. We are sure that this unique personalized and premium channel with its wide opportunities of targeting provides our partners with direct access to their consumers and will help us to provide relevant and practical information to end-users.”
