GoSpoken Offers Free Orange Prize for Fiction Book Extracts

The Orange Prize for Fiction, the UK’s only annual book award for fiction written by a woman, has announced the shortlist for its 2010 award. To coincide with the publication of the shortlist, Orange is partnering with mobile book firm GoSpoken to offer free downloadable extracts of the shortlisted books direct to mobile phones. Text extracts from all six shortlisted books will be available to download for free from today by texting PRIZE to 60300 from any UK mobile. This year’s shortlist is:

• Rosie Alison - The Very Thought of You
• Barbara Kingsolver – The Lacuna
• Attica Locke – Black Water Rising
• Hilary Mantel – Wolf Hall
• Lorrie Moore – A Gate at the Stairs
• Monique Roffey - The White Woman on the Green Bicycle

The winner will be presented with a cheque for £30,000 and a limited edition bronze statue known as ‘the Bessie’, created by artist Grizel Niven. Both are anonymously endowed.
