OnePoint Surveys, which specialises in mobile phone survey technologies and services, has expanded its mobile research platform to include the collection of video and picture messages. The company says the move significantly enriches the ‘in-the-moment’ insight captured by the mobile phone, enabling respondents to send a picture or video and share a more visual description of their activity.
“Not only can people share information about where they are, what they are doing and how they are feeling, they can now show what they are looking at, providing researchers with much richer insight,” says OnePoint CEO, Neil Jessop. “At OnePoint, we take pride in leading the way in developing the mobile phone technology to support the fifth research methodology. Our innovative approach to video and picture messaging enables this functionality to be easily deployed globally, irrespective of the respondents’ handset or the country that they are in, and without the respondent having to download an application to their mobile phone.”
OnePoints says that capturing pictures and videos has the potential to enhance the insight captured across a wide range of applications, whether it is part of voice of the customer, diary tracking, or in-store feedback. In addition, OnePoint’s picture and video collection does not depend on the type of mobile phone being used; the only requirement is that it has a camera. All responses are accessible in one central area via the OnePoint secure web portal.
